WAW to Krakow

Besides flying, what is the best method from getting to Krakow from Chopin Warsaw? If the answer is renting a car, is there any preferred agency/company?

Flying is about $250 on LOT. Party of 3, so almost $1,000 to get from A to B. I read the drive is 3.5 hours, is this true? Getting in Chopin at 11:30 a.m. and would like to go straight to Krakow.

Train.

The last time I drove that route it took more than 5 hours due to have traffic. Additionally unless you've booked a hotel with car parking facilities forget the car completely. Krakow is not a car friendly city.

~3.5 hrs by train (from Warsaw central station). You need do take train from the airport to the main train station in Warsaw and from there to Krakow main train station (which is located in the city centre). Renting a car will be more expensive and will cause you only trouble.
