Week in Gdansk!!

Hi,

Thinking of spending a week in Gdansk. What will the weather be like at the end of March? is it hot or cold? Where area would be best to stay? One of the group of 3 loves the beach whereas the others would enjoy sight seeing and wandering. I always rent a car on holidays so would this be advisable for Gdansk? Is it easy to drive around? Or would it be best to just use public transport.

Thanks for any advice.

:)

Hi,

You can use public transport.

The best connection between Gdansk - Oliwa - Sopot - Gdynia is by SKM train.

You can use tram connection between the centre of Gdansk and the beach quarters of Gdansk like Gdansk Stogi, Gdansk Brzeźno, Gdańsk Jelitkowo.

If you like to see the Kashubian district (Kartuzy, Żukowo, Szymbark) you can use bus transport or to rent a car.

Malbork has a good train connection with Gdańsk.

Museum Stutthof is in distance of 1 hour by bus or you can rent a car.

So, you have many possibilities to use public transport but you can also rent a car.

I suppose that in March you will find easily hotel or hostel in the centre of Gdansk in the Old Town area.

Kind regards

Malgorzata

Hi, as to the weather - nothing is really written in stone - it may be a nice and sunny weather, it may be rainy or even it may snow. All is possible. If you contemplate renting a car - that's fine. It is not that hard to drive. If you want to see the countryside - like Hel peninsula, the lakes of Cashubia, sand dunes of Leba or gothic castles in Gniew or malbork - so it will give you much more freedom.
