Gdansk & Chojnice transport

Hi,

We are visiting Gdansk soon for a weekend.

We arrive at 20:30 in the evening at the airport. Just wanting to know if it is better to get a taxi to the Old Town at this time of day and is it expensive? Is it a long journey by train/bus?

We are also interested in visiting Chojnice if possible, as my Grandfather was from there. Would it be feasible to get there by public transport? (I understand it is approx. 80 miles away?)

Any help would very much appreciated!

Thanks,

There is one direct train daily from Gdansk to Chojnice at around 4 pm but there is a lot of connections with one change in Tczew. Travel takes around 2.5 hrs.

You can check train connections here: http://rozklad-pkp.pl/bin/query.exe/en?

Hi Malgorzata,

Thank you for your response.

Do you know how long the journey is by bus and is there a timetable online?

Many thanks,

Esther

Hi,

it is 2,5 hrs. E-podroznik.pl is at hand in finding the connections. The service is in English and German too

E-podroznik shows only 2 direct buses daily. It would be hard to make a day trip by bus departing from Gdansk at 2:00 pm.

Hi,

We didn't make it in the end as we were only in Gdansk for a weekend and with the train times it really wasn't feasible :(

We were also quoted approx.£80 each way by taxi from Gdansk but advised it would be more on a Sunday.

We decided we will go back (we LOVED Gdansk!) and make a trip to Chojnice for a few days stay as well!

Hope you get there - have a great trip!
