Would anyone suggest a good itinery for three people travelling to and staying in Gdansk for four nights. It would be a Monday to Friday visit.

In addition to this is there any midweek sport?

Hi,

During this time you can see Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia

and some places outside Gdansk like Kashubian region

(for example Łeba, Wdzydze, Kartuzy, Szymbark),

Stutthoff (during the WWII NAZI extremination Camp),

Malbork.

Kind regards

Malgorzata

Same for me guys, group of 8 30 somethings visiting for a long weekend in january. We know its likely to be very cold with snow, but in many ways thats the appeal of a Winter Break. Any museums and sights we must see would be gratefully received

Thanks for your help. We are coming over in two weeks time.

Is a taxi the best option from airport to the Hilton for three of us where one person is elderly?

Many thanks in advance.

What kind of sport? No football. Polish football has a mid-season break from 14/12/2003 to 15/02/2014.

Ah, sorry, I looked at a different arrival date, there will be football still on when you arrive. That's the problem when somebody else asks another question on your thread.

There is a guy who publishes an online magazine in English about Polish football. http://ekstraklasareview.wordpress.com/ However watching a game is a hassle because you have to get a fan card. Although the Lechia website seems to suggest that you don't. It seems to agree with the advice given by Droodz tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g274725-i2957-k6…

Perhaps you could ask pat0Z how they got on.

Speedway is a popular sport in Poland. I don't think Gdansk have an ice hockey team any more.

For days 28.10-1.11 there are sport events:

- 28.10 19:00hrs, man basketball, local team Trefl Sopot plays in Ergo Arena

and ... Champions League game!

29.10.2013, 20:30, ATOM Trefl Sopot - Gent Dames

in .... woman volleyball ;-). Ergo Arena as well.

No football, rugby, speedway, ice hockey unfortunately on that dates.

Taxi is the best option for you to get from airport to Hilton.

One more thing. Please be aware that 1.11 is the national holiday in Poland. It is All Saints Day and on that day Poles visit graves of the dead relatives. A lot of Poles do that. This means that many services will be limited or closed and huge crowds can be expected around cemeteries. Unfortunately both main roads to airport run nearby cemeteries so allow more time for travel to the airport and especially for waiting for a taxi ordered. You can check google or you tube for "All Saints Day Poland" to get the impression of that day.

Is 7 days too long for a trip to Gdansk or will there be plenty to keep us occupied?
