airport to hotel pugetow?

Hi, I will be in Krakow in early June and staying at Hotel Pugetow. I am travelling alone, and would appreciate advice on how to get fr Krakow airport to hotel economically.

Taking a cab or booking the hotel transfer service seems rather expensive for 1 person.

I was thinking of taking bus or train from airport but not sure if it is too far to walk to hotel subseq.

Should I change some Euro to Polish currency at the airport exchange - is the rate same as downtown ?

I will be arriving 5 June and be in Krakow till 19 june - is there any festival around that period ?

Many thanks - any advice appreciated.

It's not too far to walk from the train station to the hotel, 15 mins at the most. Easy walk down Westerplatte , cross Wielopole and then walk down the right hand side of Starowiślna and the hotel is courtyard on the right.

More info on the hotel can be found here:

And on the train:

As for what is on in Kraków then see these sites for more info:

Train is really easy -just 200 metre from terminal. Quick, clean and efficient. Taxi only really becomes worthwhile if there are 4 or more passengers.

Many thanks for the advice.

I checked out the websites - seems like we should try to change money in bureaus away fr city center.

Any suggestions where I should change money ? how abt currency exchange in the shopping mall adj to train station ?

I will be flying directly from Singapore to Copenhagen and then onto Krakow so I am bringing Euro to change. Should be arriving at Krakow at about 3pm on Thurs 5 JUNE

I guess it should be safe to exchange the money anywhere in town if you keep an eye on the current exchange rate.

http://kantory.pl/?id=kursy

The table on the left shows average exchange rates in Poland (again, this is average, so it may differ a little, K letter is the code for "buy" - when you sell, S is for "sell" - when you buy).

Make sure the exchange rate is close to the current one and watch for the usual tricks (as putting zeroes in strange places or similar). If you spot anything unusual, simply ask to write down their rate, people at exchange points usually will agree on the fair rate once you nail their cheat. One more trick: ask Polish person to go and ask for the exchange rate, they usually do not cheat on Poles :)

There is a little Italian style restaurant in the same complex as the Pugetow, Il Calzone. I can thoroughly recommend this, the food and service are excellent. One of our favourite restaurants in Krakow but don't tell anyone we like it as it is!!
