2 Questions - Taxis and Tours

Hi,

We will be in Krakow but only for a few days so will be a bit tight on time. Because of our time constraints we've decided to try and do a private guide for Aushwitz and Birkenau (will need an early start). I've checked a few companies I found on the internet and it seems the rate for a private guide/taxi is $100 USD per person. Does this sound about right to you all? Or should I keep looking?

Also, we're staying at the Hotel Karmel in Kazimierz - do you know if there is a tram stop nearby that would take us to the main square or would a taxi be easier? I assume taxis are readily available in Krakow as they in any other European city? I only ask because we were in Warsaw earlier this year and had a bit of a problem tracking them down.

Thank you in advance for your help!

There are tram stops on Krakowska and Stradomska (the same line, I guess the distance is also similar). Unfortunately, the other possibility for catching the tram - Starowiślna is closed for next three weeks. Taxi on the Kazimierz - Main Square route, especially during the day (traffic), is simply waste of money and time. Go by foot (20 minutes) or catch a tram.

Hi We managed to do Auschwich, Birkenau and the Salt Mine all in one day using a taxi service (Bob Taxi), it was a long day but very enjoyable. We were collected at 8am and back at the hotel at 7pm.
