While it is completely safe to drink tap water. at least in the city it doesn't have an exceptional taste and that is one of the reasons it is not universally practiced among local poeple.

its good enough but in nicer hotels they will place bottled water in your room.....if not just buy some...but come to think of it , it will taste delicious in comparison to L.A.. water

They say Budapest and Prague have potable water, but I have yet to hear Krakow locals say theirs is too.

IMO don`t drink tape water. Buy bottled spring mountain water (in every small and big supermarket.) Most famous water is "Kryniczanka" from town Krynica near Poland/Slovakia border.

It is safe to drink - EU regulations apply - but it does not taste very good.

We stayed three days in an apartment and used the tap water all the time. To be honest I don't have any recollection of its taste, good, bad or indifferent. As to its safety, I'm still here :-) and didn't have any internal issues then.

I never drink bottled water - you can't be sure what goes into it, and it is ecologically unfriendly. With tap water at least you know it has gone through all the tests as required by law. If you don't like the taste (personally I have never noticed any real difference wherever I have drunk it) put some syrup in it :)

Don't buy bottled water unless it's really mineral water with certified mineral content. Otherwise you will buy tap water in a plastic bottle.

GCEK - that's a good approach!

I find that my Polish friends have something against drinking straight from the tap. Tap water is good for making tea - if you hotel provides a kettle.
