Restaurant Recommendation

Hi all

I researched back in May time some restaurants which I will list below, but I was hoping for some feedback on them more recently and any other suggestions of good eateries. I have been 3 times before but fancy trying some new and different places to where we have been before. I cannot remember these places names but any recommendations from locals and tourists also would be greatly received! We are not looking for anywhere that is overly expensive and are willing to try new things.

Here are the ones I have seen mentioned:

http://www.morskieoko.krakow.pl/english.html

www.restauracja-florianska.pl/index-en.php…

www.hawelka.pl/index2.php… (Miod i Wino, 31-015 Kraków, ul.Sławkowska 32)

http://www.podbaranem.com/restauracja.html

Thanks everyone!

Can you recommend any others? We want to try some traditional polish food, if you can suggest any places?

You could try Starka in Kazimierz: http://www.starka.com.pl/eng/index.php

Good food and great selection of Vodkas.

Traveller8404 - pretty much every one of the restaurants on your original list will serve traditional Polish food. Wierzynek and Hawelka will be the most upmarket and most expensive. I'm a big fan of Nostalgia and regularly eat there, but haven't tried Morskie Oko, Florianska or Pod Baranem yet.

Thanks Kas, I will check that one out straight away! :)

ewainkrakow, Yup, thats why I picked them :) Although reviews from those people who have gone or new places for polish food I have not listed will be greatly received!

Thanks for the advice on Nostalgia though!

I like Morskie Oko for Polish food. It's not necessarily Krakow region food more Mountain region, plenty of choices of meat, far more than the usual chicken and pork, decent prices for food beer and wine too.

I have to say I quite liked the look of Morskie Oko although their website only lists the specials and I cannot get into the menu! Its so frustrating!

I think these ideas are good, i like Apertif so will also run this by the others travelling! I am looking forward to coming back again, its such a beautiful city!

I'll give a second recommendation for Aperitif. Food might be a little slow coming out of the kitchen, but it's worth the wait. Very nice restaurant with lovely servers and great food.

I also loved Pod Baranem. I had the Spareribs in Cabbage leaves and it was fabulous. My husband really enjoyed his meal also, but I forget what he ate; aside from the Herring, which he loved.
