Restaurants and City Tours

4 "young" seniors will be in Krakow this June. Can anyone advise us of what would be the best city tour to take, e.g, hoho or viator, as well as restaurant suggestions.

We like to avoid "touristy" restaurants and love to eat where the locals visit.

What about driving and parking in the city. Are there any spots designated for handicapped?

Any information about Krakow is appreciated.

For restaurants, try Nostalgia (ul Karmelicka), Miod Malina (ul. Grodzka) and Wesele (Rynek) seem to get good reviews. Unfortunately, most restaurants are geared towards tourists and Poles don't eat out much so it's difficult to recommend places where 'locals visit'.

There are a small number of handicapped parking places around and if you have a "Karta Parkingowa" issued by the city council you can get a reduced rate in the paid parking zones, or can park in a designated handicapped parking bay for a certain period of time. Most of the city centre is pedestrianised though and parking on the few streets you can drive on is usually limited to residents.

there are loads of tours of krakaw in golf buggy type things, you don't need to find them, if you are near the city centre, the square, they will find you.

the best restaraunt we ate in was called my grandmothers kitchen (can't find the translation, you'll have to look when you get there!) delicious polish food, really cheap, but clean and welcoming. be prepared to be adventerous though, as there were no english transations on the menu!!

We ate at Miod Malina twice during a recent visit and it was excellent.
