the grodek hotel is on an out of the wy cul de sac at the edge of the old town...presuming theres no new construction going on, this should be a quiet area

Just to be safe, avoid anything that faces on to the Rynek, ul. Slawkowska, ul, Florianska, ul. Szewska, ul. Sienna, ul. Grodzka in the Old Town, and plac Nowy, ul. Jozefa, ul. Bozego Ciala or ul. Szeroka in Kazimierz. However, if the apartment/room looks out onto the rear, then it's probably going to be pretty quiet.

We've been to Krakow a few times now & the one we stayed in this year, Pod Wawelem Hotel was the best so far. Fantastic location, quiet, safe & great views, ( see my review)

Unless you wish to party I personally would avoid anywhere near the main square.

I stayed in red brick apartments. Just outside the city walls, really quiet but just a couple of minutes to where the action is .

These are serviced apartments with all the benefits of a hotel with the space of an apartment and a kitchen to make tea or a snack. Highly recommended.

Here is my review.
