Jasna Gora

Traveling mid September to Krakow; then wanting to go to Jasna Gora, and perhaps in order to see the Black Madona, we may have to stay overnite in Czestochowa? All thoughts appreciated.

Thanks; one travel agent hinted that it can be "incorporated" with the trip to Auschwitz and Salt Mines...is that possible?

All three in once day? Impossible. To cover both Auschwitz and Wieliczka is a 10.5-11 hour trip. What MIGHT be ;possible is Auschwitz and Jasna Gora, as they're both out the same side of Krakow. A very early start and you could probably cover both in one day.

As John said... don't do such a trip. Salt mines & Auschwitz - one day (if you must, if not, make these trips on separate days).

Częstochowa - unless you are a very religious person and plan to spend a lot of your time in the Basilica... half a day trip by car (2 hrs drive from Kraków) is enough. The reason why I'm mentioning the car option is that it gives you a chance to see the Eagle's Nests Trail - ruins of medieval castles near Częstochowa. Google "Ogrodzieniec" or "Zamek Olsztyn" for some images - worth half a day or even a full day.

I am not sure if there are day trips available that cover both options.
