There are still the same means of transport from Modlin airport to the city center. In your case, it's probably best to take a train to Warszawa Gdanska station from where you can reach the old town easily by public buses or within 20 minutes walking.

In my opinion, there is not much to be improved: buses run frequently and the train/ shuttle bus connection is at least cheap. It's really not so bad as some describe it.

I've been there (Warsaw Modlin) 3 weeks ago - late night (probably the same as you will be - flight from Dublin) and the best option was a taxi. We just went out from the airport and some random guy asked as if we’re going to Warsaw city center (he asked in English). We confirmed it, and he told us to wait a few minutes because he needs to find 2 more ppl and we can go together and split the bill, after max 10 minutes he found two Irish lads so in the end we paid 50zl each for taxi direct to our apartment. Fair deal and I suggest to do the same.

I saw lots of guys taking an random taxi or willing to pay 300zl-400zl for it… crazy…

8. Re: Transfers from Modlin to Old Town Warsaw

Hi all

Booked to fly to modin in February and looking at how to get to our apartment. The nearest metro to it looks to be kino femina if I'm reading the map right. The central rail station is just under 2km away. Would a taxi be better? Or train? Any idea on cost?

Thanks

There is no metro station named Kino Femina, what is the exact address?

There is a lot of information available on the site of the airport (…modlinairport.pl/modlin-en-new/web/passenge…), there's a dropdown menu with all the different ways of transport. (the site has an English option)

tl;dr,

there's a bus-train option, this option uses new buses and trains in white/yellow/green colors, the bus drives you from the airport to the train. I wasn't able to easily find the price, but I'm sure it's cheap.

there's a bus-only option which stops once between the airport and the center, and stops in the center at the Palace of Culture. (http://www.modlinbus.com/, english site). You can use the ZTM routeplanner (http://wyszukiwarka.ztm.waw.pl/bin/query.exe/en, english site) to continue your journey.

This option takes around 60-70minutes to the center, or 90-100minutes during rush hour. And costs 48pln (11.50 euros) for two adults return, pre-purchase online.

Depending on your stay you might want to get a day/three-day/week public transport card, unless you're travelling less than three times a day (to and from hotel), then it's cheaper to buy single 40 minute tickets. (Based on zone 1+2, time travelled 40 minutes)

There is also a price list for the taxi, the list is on Polish but you can determine what neighborhood you're in and what price corresponds. All in all it's not worth it.

I assume that is enough information for you,

enjoy your trip (if you haven't already gone)

and everyone else reading too :)

P.S. I'm going to Warsaw in February, so I had already looked for this information.
