Warning when travelling to Slovenia

We were travelling between Zagred and Lake Bled and was stuck at the boarder for 3 hours from 8:30 to 11:30 this morning and was told the toilets do not open until 12:30 and we were not allowed to open the door of our 50 people coach AND the engine needs to be off whilst we wait!

Thought our Trafalgar tour guide was going to get into trouble for kicking up a fuss with media present but some official was there with the media and every truck, coach and car was checked.

We don't like the checking and the delay but itis almost inhumane to not allow toilet and had to close door with no air circulation with a 3 hour wait! I would seriously reconsider if any other tour travels through Slovenia no matter how pretty it is………

You have to understand that Slovenian border is EU external Schengen border(!) and controls etc.. are not solely in Slovenian government jurisdiction, but were agreed/imposed by other EU members and with current increased inflow of illegal immigrants from Mid East/Africa + narcotics(Balkan drug route) border checks can be rigorous on moments.. too bad you run into on that day.

Would be good to explain precisely. Border is Shengen, Slovenian-Croatian! As I know, checking was 1st Croatian, 2nd Slovenian. Why was so long? So many buses? Everywhere on the borders is walking arround limited.
