3 or 5 Nights in Bled

My original plan was to spend 3 nights in Bled and then a night or 2 at Lake Bohinj........but WHY make the move if we can conveniently drive to Lake Bohinj????????

Also thought that we'd perhaps spend a night in Kobarid. Another WHY?????????

Comments please and thanks for your time.

Thinking that when we go over Vrsic pass we'll just keep going and get to the DOBROVO area for 2-3 nights. Any comments?

Hi lake Bohinj is just 20 km from Bled, with car is that 20 min and you do not need to move.

Vrsic pass will be this year, due to snow, closed probably until 1. may. If you spend a night in Bovec or Kobarid, you should try rafting, canyoning,... there.

One reason for an overnight in Kobarid is that there are a few very good restaurants there eg. Hisa Franco, Kotlar.

Love the area around Dobrovo and had a couple of nights in Hotel Kosana. Good food there too.

Thank you both. We WILL stay 5 nights in Bled.....and still try to spend a night in Kobarid for rafting.

And guess what........I am going to make reservations at Kosana! Friends have stayed there.

Thanks.

You don't need to go over Vrsic pass, you should definitely take the car train that takes you through the tunnel to Most na Soci, which is really close to Kobarid.

You've given me something to really think about.

We've driven ALL the beautiful passes in Colorado. Is Vrsic worth a pass??????????????

Probably significantly shorter too.

CHEERS.

Oh yes, Vrsic is worth a pass if open, the scenery is breathtaking. It's 1611m high so not really a difficult voyage and you can also visit the Russian Chapel on the way, where around 300 russian war prisoners died in an avalanche when building the road. If closed, you can always take either the train or a detour through Italy.
