Getting into Slovenia from Milan and car rental

Thinking of seeing a bit of Slovenia but because direct airfares into Ljubljana are higher, was thinking of flying into Milan and then traveling by train. Has anyone done this or have any opinion on whether it's too time-consuming? Also, any recommendations on car rental agencies in Ljubljana?

It's probably the best idea to use GoOpti's shuttle. Taking a train would take unreasonably long.

hi,

try to fly to Trieste its closer...but yes it is a cca 5h train ride to Trieste from Milan, than you can take another train to Ljubljana. Don`t know how you like an idea to rent a campervan in Slovenia and visit TOP places. if u like to camp, than try Marley Campervan, https://www.facebook.com/marleycampervan its a new, small family bussines.

take care M
