Here's info on your best options. Some people take public transport but from what I've read it's not that convenient.

Anyway, hopes this helps:

Definately use Zona Taxi. Very simple and affordable. When you exit the terminal there's a booth outside (you can't miss the queue or the taxis lined up , everybody is headed there).

Anyway, you tell the guy in the booth where you need to go. He prints up a voucher that has your destination on it. Give it to the taxi driver. The price to to into Budapest (inner city) is a fixed price for all the drivers.

A no-brainer. Both times the drivers were like race car drivers. Because the fee is set, they seem to want to get you to your destination so they can race back to the airport for their next fare.

As Delphi says, you can't go wrong, taxi return fare should be about £30, you will need two, so a tenner each.

Do not approach the taxis direct, go via the booth, otherwise you may end up paying the meter fare, which is a whole lot more.

There are ATMs in the arrivals hall to extract cash, however if you are arriving after 5pm I suggest taking £50 worth of forints in case the ATMs are empty.

HI

We used the airport minibus last week, it was great service and worked out £10 return for 10 of us. there was no waiting, and he picked us up promptly from the hotel for our return journey.
