Budapest to hideout festival

Hi,

I am flying into Budapest on Tuesday 26th June 2012 at 5.20pm,

I need to get down to the Island of Pag for Hideout festival.... anyone done this route? it seems pretty straight forward on a map, but whats the best and CHEAPEST way to do it? Aslong as I'm there by wednesday night/thursday morning....

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Lizzie,

I'm trying to help here, but when I google the PAG Hideout Festival, I primarily find the event happening in Croatia. Are you attending this event or one located in Hungary?

Thanks

Jeremy

PAG hideout festival is indeed in Croatia.

I guess best option would be to get to Zagreb by train, then bus to Novalja on Pag island. Both legs seem to be around 6 hours each. To make it, you probably need to get on a night train to Zagreb if there is one.

There are 3 train a day to Zagreb. The 3rd one is a night train to Split, goes every Tuesday and Friday - but leaves Budapest before you land, you have to go next day.

Here are the trains (it is in Hungarian, but see the table in the middle): www.mav-start.hu/utazas/horvatorszag.php

A retour ticket to Zagreb costs 30€

Train is the best way. Zagreb - Budapest is 400 km.
