I found several older posts about Central Market that recommended this as a great place to get an authentic Hungarian meal. Is it still there? Is it still good? What do you recommend ordering?

Yes, Brumi is still there on the top floor (right) of the Market in Budapest and his food is fantastic. The best place in Budapest for breakfast and snacks. And he's a great character and his family have worked the food stall for over 120 years!!!

It's essentially a steam table, stand-up eating .... Let your eyes and nose guide your choice...among the stalls on the mezzanine, it's the largest one, more or less dead center on the right...the langos stand just before is also quite good

The "steam tables" are very similar to the often mentioned ones to be found in NYC delis except that they have better stuffed peppers and sausages. They also have stools to go with the high tables so you look down at the shoppers while you eat your inexpensive, authentic Hungarian lunch. Really a must do when in Budapest!
