January in budapest

Hi

I am coming to budapest on 2nd January for a few days, staying at the boscolo. Any ideas what would be best to see and do ?

Also is the baths open ? How long does it take from airport to city.

Thank you

Hello Beth A

As to what would be best to see and do its sort of hard to suggest without really knowing you and your travel style and wants. Perhaps you could share with us what you enjoy. Is it architecture, history, dining, or just general sightseeing of the highlights?

The baths will be open ..... on a cold winters day can be quite a fun and unique experience I would suggest perhaps going to Szechenyi and then taking in some of the city park and Heroes Square while there, maybe even lacing up some skates and going for a skate or just people watching with a warm beverage of your choice .... :)

Depending on the time of day you arrive and of course traffic by taxi to your hotel should be roughly 30-45 minutes.

Hope this helps

for a first timer the szecheny or the gellert would be good its likely to be a bit nippy outdoors but I guess you are used to that?
