Weather and driving through Poprad

We plan to drive from Krakow, stay in Poprad and then carry on towards Bratislava in rented cars. Probable time late May 2014.

How is the weather pattern at that time of the year. How are the roads?Any specific routes to take?

Two cars with eight people will be travelling.

Hello, regarding weather, it should be normal spring weather (in the mountains a bit colder), this might give you a picture:

There should be no problem with roads at that time. Probably the easiest way is to go Krakow - Nowy Targ - crossing Jurgów/Podspady - Zdiar - Poprad. You will have very nice views of Tatra mountains.

May should be ok unless extreme unseasonal pattern kicks in.

You will need IDPs (compulsory in Poland at least), a vignette for the Slovak highways, and remember to stick closely to the local driving laws (e.g. lights on at all time, day and night).

Then you will have to get back to Poland again to drop it off, as the international drop-off fee is huge, if the agency permits it at all.
