Nature reserves/parks on Saaremaa Island

Viidumäe Nature Reserve or Vilsandi National Park? Has anyone visited either of these parks? If so, how was the hiking? I'm a woman traveling on my own. Would it be safe to hike there alone? Can one hire a bicycle and ride to these parks from Kuressaare? Or would hiring a taxi to drop me off and pick me up be a better idea?

The bike ride is about 40 km (25 mi.) to Papisaare (boats to Vilsandi). This route goes through Viidumä.

Roads fairly flat except near Viidumäe (Viidu Hill as mäe is hill). Road through Viidumäe is gravel and can be rough.

Use Google translate to translate this page to English for info about boats to Vilsandi.

Both would be safe though Viidumäe is more isolated with very little traffic.
