Santiago Excursion

Can anyone tell me if this is really 3 hrs each way...also do they drive straight for 3 hrs or do they break it up by making stops there and back?

Really want to do this but don't want to do a long drive if it is without any stops to break it up.

IF someone can give me a break down of how the day goes I would appreciate it

Thank you

10 sleeps to Blau!

It is a three hour drive, but they do stop a couple of times. It really is well worth the money, in fact I used to describe it as the 'best bang for your bucks' of all the excursions on offer.

Check out my slideshow:

I believe the tour has altered somewhat from when I visited.

Thanks cdngal44 for posting this question. I was wondering the same thing. I'd like to do the tour but the travelling time seemed to be quite long.

Tanks you for the link bellagio...and the info. I did a city tour when In Cayo coco in dewc andthe ride was long..not as long, but they did stops there and back as part of the tour and it broke up the drive nicely.

Missy Jane..when are you going, and where are you staying?

Not as long as the Havana day trip, though.

I'd recommend an overnight trip, so that you aren't rushed and have more time to enjoy Santiago. We did the day trip in November, we stopped once (about 40 minutes outside of Santiago) and we were the last hotel pick up. It was just over 3 hours each way. We only had an hour of free time, which is expected with such a long journey.
