Gulf shores or Orange Beach for a group of 20-somethings?

Looking to go to the Alabama beaches in the next few weeks. From what I've seen, seems like Gulf Shores or Orange Beach are the places to go. Trying to go to a nice beach but also somewhere with good nightlife, music, food, etc. There's a mixed group of guys and gals coming from NOLA all in our 20s. Thanks for the help!

There is a saying that escapes me...something about a steak dinner and a baloney sandwich. As far as music, food and nightlife are concerned, you're trading your steak dinner for our baloney sandwich. We do our best, but you need to manage expectations. We have some pretty good seafood, though South Alabama's motto is "If it ain't fried, it ain't food". We have nightlife and music, though on a much smaller scale than that to which you are accustomed. Our music leans toward middle aged Jimmy Buffett wannabes

That said, if you want nice beaches you're coming to the right place! You can't beat our beaches with anything closer to NOLA. Come and enjoy! OB and GS beaches are pretty much interchangeable, so find a rental you like.

If you have questions about specific places, just post them here.
