Dazed&Confused with Alaska Planning

From reading other postings, you have a wealth of knowledge and have been very helpful to many people. We are planning a trip in late june/early july for 2 weeks. We have a hold at the North Face Lodge in Denali for 3 nights. Do you have any recommendations for lodges on the Kenai Peninsula and Prince William Sound? We have met people from the Great Alaska Lodge and they seemed nice. Do you have any feedback on them? (We are considering staying at their bear camp, the lodge in Sterling, and their adventure camp in Seward.) We have also been looking at other possibilities in Kenai, Seward, Prince William Sound, as well as Homer and Soldovia for places to stay. We would appreciate your suggestions and recommendations on lodges.

Activities we would like to do: bear viewing, a half-day of fishing, kayaking with the whales and other sea life, glacier hikes, helicopter/flightseeing tours, etc. Money is not a concern, just the best experience.

Do you have suggestions for the inside passage for people who don't like the big cruise experience.

We are a young (40) adventureous couple who likes to experience a place and its people more than the most popular tourist attraction.

Any help and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Consider a Cruise West inside passage cruise. They're pricey, but always have rave reviews because they get you into the ports and places that the big ships can't or don't bother with.

Close to Cruise West in price would be a small yacht charter. If you want to get to know people and be entertained, this is a great way to go. Several of the charter yachts based out of Juneau are very good at customizing itineraries for most any time-frame.
