Summer trip with teenagers

My wife and I are planning a trip with our two girls (15 & 17). Initial thoughts would be either a cruisetour or a 7 night cruise north from Vancouver followed by about 4 days on our own renting a car out of Anchorage...trips to Denali, etc. Question is whether we should spend the extra money for the sake of the cruisetour convenience or is it possible to put something easily together?

Thanks!

Very easy to plan/book your own land tour . . . if you look, you will several posts very similar to yours. Rent your car today! Lodging next - www.denalichamber.com will help get you started. Then www.nps.gov/dena for park info. :)

If you only have 4 days after the cruise, you will barely have enough time to get to Denali. Do you plan on arriving into Seward or Whittier? Seward is further away and if you come into Seward you will need a night between Seward and Denali (best is to take a Kenai Fjords tour in Seward, then take the 6pm train to Anchorage). Then the next day rent the car and drive from Anchorage to Denali. You need a minimum of two nights in Denali to make it worth it.
