Bryce Canyon or Monument Valley

Hi lads and lasses

Looking for a bit of advice really.

We are leaving Vegas on a monday morning in September. We are booked into Bright Angel Lodge on the Tuesday night. In this time we can either do Zion & Bryce (staying in Tropic), or do Zion, stay in Page, and then go to Monument Valley. I can't decide which is the better option.

Zion, Bryce, GC

Zion, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley & GC

Any thoughts?

Cheers!

Also, is there anywhere to good to visit while in Laughlin?

Whereas both Bryce and Monument Valley are sensationally spectacular and top notch destinations, albeit totally different, with your time frame I'd most strongly advise against going out to MV and back. Simply not a good choice with your limited time. So go to Bryce. OR have you considered going from Zion to Page instead - and stay there overnite, but w/o going to MG - see Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, a short tour on the lake ... Just a thought ...

I also suggest the Zion-Bryce Canyon-Grand Canyon plan for your limited time in the area. And with just one night, that will be very difficult to do. You might be better picking even fewer places before arriving at GC. Perhaps just focus on Zion, overnight in Springdale then head to the Grand Cayon. If you have time, maybe make a stop at one of the wonders around Page to break up the drive (Antelop Canyon, Horseshoe Bend).

MV is too far for this trip and it'd be a shame to go to Page without taking in the sites in that area (Antelope Canyon, Rainbow Bridge, etc.) So Bryce would get my vote in this case... and in all regards all of the above are superior to MV IMO.

I vote for Bryce, as well, because I think it's beautiful and totally worth a visit.

I understand you have reservations at Bright Angel and that's really something to look forward to, but due to your limited amount of time, I have to ask if you'd think about visiting the north rim instead of the south rim. Although less developed, it's equally as beautiful and would free you from doing so much driving in so little time.

Sounds like you have more time after GCNP to visit Laughlin. It is sort of a mini Las Vegas on the Colorado River. I guess it depends on what you're headed there for- if you like water sports you can rent a jet ski and ride on the river. Other than that, it's a row of casinos that are smaller and not as opulent as those in Las Vegas. There is also a sidewalk between the majority of the casinos on the river side and the river where you can walk. Only other thing I can think of is the outlet mall.

If you were to stay north of Grand Canyon, you could spend more time exploring Zion and Bryce as well as possibly visit Valley of Fire State Park on the way to or from Las Vegas and skip Laughlin.

Cheers for all your messages. Some good advice there. I may skip MV.

Any thoughts on Marble Canyon for an overnight stop?

As noted MV is more distant. You are trying to cram too much into the one day anyway, but choose Bryce as it's more realistic.

At Marble Canyon is Cliffdwellers Lodge. Highly recommended but it's a detour if you also want to see Page. You can see a bit of Zion on your way but Las Vegas-Bryce-Marble Canyon will be far. Marble Canyon to Page is 45 minutes but there's a lot to see on your way (Lees ferry, Navajo Bridges, Marble Canyon.) and you'll have to backtrack on your way to GC.
