Havasu fall with kids

Could someone tell me if it's possible to get to havasu fall with kids (3+7) looking at the hiking option or horses but not sure what the deal is . Is there a lodge to stay while there or do you return the same day ?

I wouldn't with a 3-year-old. The trail to the falls is too long, plus if you don't have reservations for the campground or Supai Lodge, you're unlikely to get one. These are typically booked 1 year in advance. There is limited helicopter service provided by AirWest from Hualapai Hilltop but tourists are last to get on these. Tribe members are given first crack at the seats, so best case scenario you wouldn't get to Supai until late in the afternoon. That's nowhere near enough time to go to the falls, have some quality time then go back to the Hilltop. Here's the tribe's official website with more info ->: www.havasupai-nsn.gov/tourism.html

It's too bad Papillon's day trip from the Grand Canyon got axed. It was expensive, but it was pretty much the only way to get to the falls by a decent hour, spend the afternoon then get back to the Grand Canyon in time for dinner without having to sort through all the logistics. Oh well....
