Arizona within week with 15 month old

Hi

Just wanting some help. We are coming to Las Vegas for a week in mid October, knowing its not enough time but lack the funds. We really want to see horseshoe bend, antelope canyon and monument valley an of course Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. Are all of these do-able with a 15 month old? Esp antelope canyon?

Also what are the best times for each of these for photos when the rocks will be at their redest? Anything else we should see of does our time really limit what we want already?

Monument Valley is best at dawn and dusk. Book a room at the View Hotel there.

Horseshoe Bend is best in the morning. Antelope Canyon will be best in mid day. You'll need to carry the toddler. Consider Lower AC as the ride to Upper AC is rough .

Stay inside the park at GCNP so you can be there for sunset and sunrise.

The best way to do this trip is to abandon LV as quickly as you can and hit the road. Give Page at least two nights. Consider adding Zion or Sedona.

You won't have much time for Las Vegas anyway if you want to do a trip like this in a week. Other places highly recommended are Zion, Bryce and Sedona.

I'd just use LV as a staging area to spend the first and the last night. What do you wanna do there with such a young child! Seeing the Strip is a special experience, but one evening will take care of that. Then I'd do 1 nite GC, 1 or better 2 nites Page, 1 nite Monument valley, if possible 1 nite Bryce and 1 nite Zion and then back to Vegas. if you have an evening flight out you don't even have to spend the last night there. Same if you can hit the road on the day of arrival by late morning, do so and go to the GC straight, and add the last nite for Vegas.

Thanks so much everyone! We are coming from Australia on route to toronto for a wedding, hence why we are bringing our child! We don't plan on spending much time at all in Las Vegas except to see the lights. Does anyone know how we would go with going to upper antelope canyon with a child carrier? We really really want to do this but don't want to put our child at risk

You are not going to put your child at risk, don't worry about that. There are no risks, and in October there is no heat issue. When there's a flash flood risk at Antelope Creek, the canyons are closed.

upper is a level roughly quarter-mile slot where you walk on sand, but you are trucked to the entrance on the dry creek bed ... not as level and smooth as on a paved road - which is what an earlier poster mentioned. Lower has a couple tight passages where I guess the child would have to be out of the carrier and carried in your arms. there are also some very step stairs, metal, bolted to the walls .. absolutely doable with a child, just a bit more effort.

Same at monument valley - on a sandy, bumpy road - but it's not as if they were racing over it ... that is if you take the back country tour, which you absolutely should!
