picturesque hikes with waterfalls?

What area of Arkansas would be best? Thinking of seeing Hot Springs, but I think there are some good hikes north of there? Could anyone direct me?

There are many hikes with waterfalls in the Ozarks, particularly centered around Jasper and the Buffalo River. The size and even the existance of most falls is highly dependant upon the length of time since the last rain. Highly recommend you pick up a copy of Tim Ernst's (the guru of Arkansas hiking) "Arkansas Waterfalls" guide book. It can be found at most Arkansas tourist information outlets or ordered directly from him at http://www.timernst.com/Products/H2O.html

He gives very detailed instructions about finding the trails as well as information on the difficulty level. Also a picture of each fall. Just be aware most pictures are taken at high water levels and may not be as spetacular unless the weather is co-operating.

Petit Jean and Lost Valley are two legendary places for hikes to water falls in Arkansas.

Remember, waterfalls in Arkansas are totally dependent on rainfall. Be sure to check on whether the falls are flowing before you go, or you may be disappointed.!

(hope I got that last link correct - if not, google lost vally arkansas)
