most fun place to take tweens

If we take a trip from Texas with two tween kids....where would be the best area for things to do?

And the nicest place to stay with a great pool and close to rafting? What else to do there?

Check out the Arkansas state parks. Mt magazine state park has an awesome lodge with also beautiful free standing "cabins" with hot tubs. Great indoor pool. Highest mountain in the state. Petit jean state park has a newly remodeled historic lodge with a pool and great trails and views. Degray lodge is more like a hotel on a nice lake with a pool. These are all state parks. Sorry I can't pull the websites at the moment. Also check out mid-america museum in hot springs for the kids. As to rafting - that is going to be tough in mid summer. Most Arkansas streams depend on rainfall to be navigable. My fav short stretch is the lower buffalo river in midsummer - like buffalo point to rush but this will not be by raft and will just be a lazy low water but beautiful canoe trip. Check out the buffalo river national park website.
