Not enough information. What is your budget? Will you have a car? How long? Did you want to stay in one place?

To me, the perfect honeymoon spot is Post Ranch in Big Sur, but it's about $1,000/night. Or the Montage in Laguna, which is $800/night.

Also, CA is huge, and extremely diverse. San Francisco is a fantastic honeymoon spot, but not beachy. Carmel is charming, but can be expensive. Laguna Beach, in So Cal, is relaxing and beautiful, and can be done on a budget. Santa Monica is pricey, but is part of enormous Los Angeles with lots to do and see nearby.

There are so many, but a couple:

San Diego: Hotel del Coronado

http://www.hoteldel.com/

Huntington Beach

Hyatt Regency

…hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp

or

Hilton

…hilton.com/en_US/…index.do

Laguna Beach

Montage Resort

Casa Laguna Bed and Breakfast

http://www.casalaguna.com/

Santa Monica

Shutters on the Beach

Now the question is, if these are in your price range....if not, you might want to enjoy some less full service resorts such as

Best Western Huntington Beach

bestwesterncalifornia.com/hotels/…

or

a a 3 minute walk to the beach

Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel

http://www.thebestinn.com/

Giving these as you can get places close to the ocean, if $ are a concern.

I am giving SoCal places, there are Northern Califronia places also such as Montery, Bodega Bay, Mendocino, etc.

Its a huge state - 800 miles of coastline, so a little more of what you are looking for will help.

For example, if you want a rugid coastline, close to wine tasting, San Francisco, etc.

Inn at the Tides Bodega Bay is nice.

or perhaps you are thinking of something central, more quiet, such as Pismo Beach and

Seaventure

http://www.seaventure.com/

or go all the way up to Crescent City and see the ocean and redwoods.

All are wonderful - all delightful - and all fun.

What are you looking for - and if you're not sure, what are the 2 of yours favorite things to do...

such as

hiking?

biking?

wine tasting?

spa?

shopping?

amusement parks and the ocean?

laying in the sun in a swimming suit (definitely you want to pick a Southern California spot).

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding - and yes, there are many many delightful and expensive to affordable places to enjoy it at.

The Montage Resort in Laguna Beach is amazing, we celebrated an anniversary there. We also very much enjoyed the cozy and quaint Casa Laguna Inn for 3 nights last December but it is not oceanfront as the Montage is. Check out the www.lagunabeach.com website for good rates on lodging in Laguna.

Carmel has the Tickle Pink Inn and the Highaland's Inn, two very nice properties in the Carmel Highland's area. Let me know if you have questions on either of these properties, we will be back in this area soon, can't wait! :)
