Hi

A few things to consider...

Our Thanksgiving holiday is Nov 25. There will be many people on the road driving to & from family dinners on that Thursday, many people taking the 4-day weekend as a mini holiday, theme parks will be very busy with holiday visitors, and very few shops or restaurants will be open on the 25th. Where does Thanksgiving fit in your "end of November" trip?

It looks like all of your time in the greater Los Angeles area (L.A. and Anaheim) will be spent at theme parks. With kids, that may be what they want to do. But you really won't have visited Los Angeles at all. So next time you travel to California, you might want to see the real L.A.

A visit to the Grand Canyon isn't really a day trip. It's 5 hours by car. I'm not sure if fixed wing aircraft are still going to the GC from LV in November with the limited hours of daylight and the cold weather. The South Rim is at 7,000' elevation. Check with folks on the Grand Canyon forum.

If you want to visit Yosemite and some other natural areas, how about revising your trip something like this...

Day 8 Day trip from LV: Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Valley of Fire State Park (this park allows people to climb on rocks, to explore, and is beautiful & fun for all ages, plus it's close to Las Vegas!)

Day 9 Drive to Death Valley, visit, stay DV.

Day 10 Long drive to Oakhurst (outside the South Entrance of Yosemite.) If time allows, visit Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias in the late afternoon.

Day 11 Visit Yosemite, stay Yosemite Valley.

Day 12 Drive to San Francisco (4 hrs), stay SF (folks on the SF forum can guide you to places other than touristy Fisherman's Wharf. Let them know what you & your kids enjoy.)

Day 13 Stay SF

Day 14 Flight

No way you could drive to Lake Tahoe on day 10, and back to SF in a day. It's 4 hours each way. LT should have at least an overnight and 2 days to see everything.

The hours of daylight in November are more limited, but you can visit all three. Hoover Dam as a variety of tours, and if you choose a long one you might not have time to "do it all." Check with the good folks on the Las Vegas forum to get their advice about this day trip.

For a shorter trip, you could just make a loop drive along Lake Mead to the north end of Valley of Fire, have a picnic lunch at one of the many picnic areas, go on some hikes & walks (look for chuckwallas, desert tortoises, antelope squirrels...), and drive back to Las Vegas on the interstate.

Here is the driving map to Death Valley: nps.gov/deva/…20Vegas.pdf There is a thread on the Death Valley forum right now with someone planning a drive such as yours... arrival from LV in the morning, stay the night in DV, and continue on the next day (tho' they're heading north on Hwy 395 and you'd need to go south around the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and up Hwy 99.)
