Yosemite Accomodation

Hi there.

We're travelling through Yosemite in early October and need to find some accomodation for a few nights. Would prefer to keep away from overly expensive hotels and have been looking at the bed and breakfast options. Would anyone have any recommendations?

Many thanks

Hi John R, and welcome to TripAdvisor forums.

This California state forum is the perfect place to plan your driving itinerary. For example, if you're driving the Hwy 1 coast between SF and L.A., the Top Questions (upper right) has descriptions about this drive and the towns where you might stay.

When you know where you want to stay, go directly to that destination forum and read those Top Questions. Usually you'll find great info about the lodging in that area. For example, the San Francisco forum has info about different neighborhoods.

The Yosemite Top Questions describes all the lodging options inside the Park (both the official ones and all the private property rentals) and all the options outside the Park. I suggest that you go to the Yosemite page and read the info we've put up there for visitors. Then repost.

Keep in mind how far your lodging is from the different areas of the Park you'd like to visit. Saving $25 per night might be worth an extra 45 minutes of driving, or it might not. The relaxed breakfast at a B&B may be a terrific way to start your mornings, or you may want to be on the trails earlier. There isn't one 'best' answer for all visitors.

I'll watch for your new thread on the Yosemite forum.

Hello John R ~

The only B&B I can personally recommend in the Yosemite area is the *Tin Lizzie Inn* www.tinlizzieinn.com in Fish Camp, CA, located across from the Tenaya Lodge just two miles south of the southern entrance to YNP. It has only 3 rooms - and you WILL HAVE an amazing experience there. Rooms begin at $250.00, and are large, new and luxurious.

David and Sherran are the owners. Ask about their tour in a Model T Ford around Fish Camp! And if you want to get an earlier start of a morning, just let them know.

P.S. They are open through Sunday, October 21 for the season.

Have fun!
