Grand canyon to Los angeles area

My husband and I will be driving from the south rim of the GC to Newport Beach. Is it feasible to drive all the way, or should we pick a spot to stop over?

Over 8 hours without traffic:

Laughlin can be a good stop:

It's Casinos on the water.

I've driven straight through. It's long and boring - didn't see any point in drawing that out.

I would just drive straight thru. But if you want to break it up, you can get onto Route 66 near Kingman and drive over Sitgreaves Pass to Oatman, then onto Laughlin for a night. Cheap hotel rates and you are on the river. Pics.

Another option is to stay over in Lake Havasu City and see the London Bridge.

You can also stay in Barstow or Victorville, but if you have made it that far, you might as well just keep going.
