Maybe check www.vrbo.com but California is a huge state. Do you want to stay at one place all the time? I suggest to go out and see what California has to offer. So many fantasitc places with already 9 National Parks. Although some like Joshua Tree and Death Valley NP will be extremely hot in july/august.

Perhaps if you tell folks what you'd like to see/do they could suggest locations.

It sounds like your usual vacation is to book a rental home(we don't always call them "villas") and then hang out and swim or just loll about. Is that what you are looking to do in California??

As mentioned above California has a lot to offer in terms of sightseeing and activities.

We do not have the same sort of climate as Florida which is quite tropical!

Our coastal beach areas will have a range of temperature but rarely get really HOT even in summer.

Our inland mts. and deserts get VERY hot , sometimes over 110 F!

IF you let us know a bit more about your style of travel we can help you more intelligently!

You are in for a treat with much cooler coastal weather and no humidity at our beaches The top questions on the right side of this page have info on CA. It is huge and there is no one central spot to use for day trips to see the whole state. It would be like me asking, we would like a villa in the UK, where should we stay and you should have the same question for me as we do for you

We don't have villas here, there are some homes for rent privately, but not through a service like in Florida.

Where in California do you want to go, what do you want to see? It's an enormous place.
