Tioga pass 120 open

just heard that highway 120 over Tioga Pass through Yosemite Park is still open. You just can't stop or run out of gas or break down or stop to hike or camp. But you can pass through. Good thing because we had been long planning to go from SF Bay Area to Mammoth tomorrow, and the detour over Sonora Pass adds quite a bit to the drive. Anyway there is that sign on 120 at Yosemite Junction west of Sonora that hopefully will confirm that it is open. I promise the NPS that I won't stop or even enjoy the view.

Thanks, Dhauk.

This is true, in general, in the National Parks. Restrooms are closed. Gas stations are usually not operated by the parks, but if they are on park soil, they have to shut down.

I am still waiting to hear from the rangers at the National Forest district in the Sequoia National Forest (not holding my breath...even on regular days, they are often hard to contact). National Forest closures are probably similar to National Parks closures (no camping, no hiking, no stopping), but I'd like to hear that from someone who knows for sure.
