West Coast drive

I am looking to book up a 3 week holiday for this July visiting the west coast. This is the itinerary I have put together so far.....

10th – 31st

LA – 4 Nights

Santa Barbara – 1 Night

Pismo Beach – 1 Night

Carmel Valley Park – 5 Nights

San Francisco – 4 Nights

Yosmite national Park – 2 Nights

Death Valley – 1 Night

Las Vegas – 4 Nights

I have been thinking that 5 nights in Carmel may be too long.....Am I missing any major locations?

Thanks for your help!!

Five nights in Carmel might be perfect for some folks. For me, I'd spend more time in the mountains.

Carmel Valley Park ? What is that and yes a couple of nights in carmel would be fine. Yosemite may need an extra night. Santa Barbara to Pismo will be a short drive. How about doing Cambria instead

Major locations ? Well yes San Diego and Orange County are not on your list. Perhaps either of those over Las Vegas?

Maybe add another night in Pismo. We are there now enjoying the sunshine and beautiful beach. :).

I am a little confused because Carmel Valley is in San Diego. I am assuming you just mean "Carmel" next to Monterey.

5 days in Carmel would be far too long for me, I'd spend more time in Santa Barbara, maybe a night in the Santa Barbara Wine Country (Los Olivos, Solvang) and maybe a night or two in the Napa Valley (St Helena, Yountville).

Couldn't pay me to visit Death Valley in the middle of summer. It will be ungodly HOT!!!!

5 nights Carmel Valley Park? There is a Carmel Valley east of Carmel By The Sea, but it's inland away from the coast. I love the area, but 5 nights might be a bit much. I would add a night to Yosemite and change Death Valley to Mammoth or Lone Pine.

Be sure to book your lodgings ASAP, especially Yosemite.
