Ski resort-No rental car needed?

Hi,

I am looking for a ski resort that wouldn't really require you to need a car. We would like to take a shuttle from the Denver Airport and be able to walk around the resort without needing to get in a car.

Appreciate the advice, thanks!

Well, you're going to want to stay at one of the resorts that has its own "village" and has shuttle service from DIA.

Copper Mountain might fit the bill. Nice little "ski village" with shuttles. Their website is:

Vail might also work, but things are a lot more spread out there. On the other hand, Vail is more of a complete town, rather than simply a "ski village". It sits right on I-70 -- in fact, the freeway basically cuts the town in two.

Breckenridge fits the above description too (a town and a ski resort) and isn't nearly as spread out as Vail -- probably easier to get around, and it has the "look" of a mountain ski town:

There are probably several more you could consider, such as Aspen (if you can afford it) and Crested Butte (remote, but beautiful). Frankly, most of the larger ski resorts will have shuttle service from DIA and some sort of public transportation.

The previous reply was right, but if you are an avid skier and have to choose one of the three, Vail is the by far the best ski mountain It offers the most terrain, the longest runs, and is fantastically laid-out. The nucleus of the town extends from "the Village" to "Lionshead" and it's about 10 minutes from end to end via the free shuttle. There's plenty of other lodging scattered on the other side of the highway, but if you don't have a car, try to stay somewhere along the stretch I mentioned.
