Trip advice

My girlfriend and I are trying to plan a week long trip to Colorado in the next few weeks. We never been to that region during the summer and would appreciate any recommendation of where to go and what to see.

Thanks in advance

There are so many options! Where to begin?!

Rocky Mtn National Park is nice, offespecially the drive over Trail Ridge Road. Expect crowds in the park - it's very popular. Colorado Springs has Pikes Peak - which is accessible by car. Northwest CO (Grand Junction)offers mesas, dinosaur fossils, wine country, etc. Southwest CO (Ouray, Durango, Pagosa Springs)provides drastically different mtn views - red mountains, jagged peaks and magnificent scenery. There are many great towns throughout the state to explore along the way.

What kind of activities are you interested in? hot springs? hiking / biking? cultural? You really can't go wrong in CO!

Depending on what you are into and where you'll fly in/out of, I would suggest:

Rocky Mountain National Park

Glenwood Springs (nice drive from Denver)

Colorado Springs (Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods)

Breckenridge (Senic Mountain Town - not as expensive as a Vail/Aspen but has a lot to do)

Grand Junction/Palisade (Colorado Wine Country)

Since we don't know you or what you like to do, we need more information in order to help you. Colorado is a big state with many scenic areas and lots of things to see and do.

I suggest that you go to the left side of this page and click on "Visiting Colorado", "Things to do" & "Before you go" and search there. Then come back with specific questions on the area(s) you plan to visit.

Here is one article to get you started: tripadvisor.com/Travel-g28927-c7633/Colorado…

If you could fly in to Colorado Springs, you would be near plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and whitewater rafting. You could visit Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and the Royal Gorge. Even if you fly in to Denver, you are just over an hour from the Springs and all the area has to offer.
