Looking for a cabin type stay within 2 hours of Denver

We plan on going to Colorado early August. Prefer something in the mountains, within 2 hours of Denver. SO many choices! Hiking is a must. Kind of like the idea of a cabin, but open to options. Thanks for suggestions! (2 Adults and 11 year old son)

You are right, many choices! It would help to know more about what your wanting to do besides hiking. Hiking is pretty much everywhere!

Since you have an 11 year old maybe http://www.ymcarockies.org/smrlodging.html

I also like the Blue River area just outside of Breckenridge. You get a mountain feel but close enough for a run into town

maybe something like this?

And the Buena Vista area too

I love the Idaho Springs area, and this is a great rental! tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g33485-d1822622…

There are other cabins up that road if you search VRBO... good luck!

There are some really great options in Estes Park. If hiking is a must, then Estes would be a great choice because Rocky Mountain Nat. Park is right there and has tons of amazing hiking trails!

I personally like these cabins....

My kids are 12, 11 and 4, and they love Estes. We have stayed at the Lodge at Lake Estes, but there are many cabin-type accommodations in the area.
