Pontoon Boat, Tubing, Kayaking

Married couple, late 50‘s, no children/pets who are traveling all over Colorado for 2 ½ weeks in mid-September. We are looking for water activity such as a pontoon boat, tubing or kayaking. Suggestions?

Water in Colorado in mid-September may be much too cold for tubing.

Grand Lake is the town on the western side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby are all very close together. You can check these links. I am not sure when the "boating" season ends.

Also look at the Lake Dillon Reservoir near Dillon and Frisco.

Another large lake in Colorado is Blue Mesa Reservoir. Ridgway State Park, Vallecito Lake, Lake San Cristobal, Twin Lakes, Taylor Reservoir, Navajo Reservoir & McPhee Reservoir are some others that come to mind.

You can also look at the Colorado State Parks website to find state parks near your route which have lakes and boat rentals. Not all the parks that have lakes offer boat rentals at the park, but there are often shops nearby.

Pagosa Springs and Durango might have tubing in September...I'm not sure.
