Good place to take Kids, 10 and 11?

My daughter really wants to "see Colorado in the summer time". I've only been in the winter, any suggestions on a good place to go where we can truly experience Colorado at it's summer best? I'm a single mom, so it would just be the three of us, so need to keep that in mind... Thanks in advance for your expertise!

PS, We'll be driving in from the East...

For affordable family fun, folks just love the YMCA of the Rockies either the Estes Park Center adjacent to the eastern side of Rocky Mountain National Park or Snow Mountain Ranch close to Winter Park, Grand Lake and the western side of RMNP. Type YMCA of the Rockies in the search box in the upper right and the reviews will come up. www.ymcarockies.org

These are not typical "Y's" but resorts. Click on the activities link. You will be amazed and many activities are included in the lodging cost. Others are available for nominal fees.

Check out this previous post for kid friendly ideas for Grand Lake, Estes and RMNP.

I was going to say the YMCA(s) too. Other than that I think Summit County is a great place for a family vaca

I spent lots of summers as a kid in Steamboat Springs and loved it . Steamboat's very family friendly.
