Very Secluded Cabin

I am looking for a Very Secluded Cabin in the mountains. One where they will take you up on horseback and drop you off. Does anyone know of a place. I am looking for next Sept. 2013.

You may want to look into a hut trip, as for horses taking you, I'm not sure. http://www.huts.org/

Peter at http://www.rockymountainguides.com/main.html has a permit for a cabin on forest service land. In the past I know he hiked people in and had the cabin outfitted for a stay. Not sure if he still does that or about the horses. Never hurts to ask him. Though I am having a tough time picturing Peter on a horse,

http://tomichilodge.com/ is remote cabin but again do not know about the horses.

http://www.americansafariranch.com/ might have some ideas too

Maybe do some searching on the Colorado Outfitters Association website, or contact them. The outfitters would be the ones who'd do the horseback part of the trip.

The Forest Service has a number of cabins, but the ones I know of have some road access...sometimes 4 wh. drive required, so maybe those would be suitable for a pack trip in. Or some of the cross-country ski huts are available for hike-in/bike in use in the summer, and you could hire an outfitter to pack you in.

Let us know what you find out! And if we think of anything else, we'll let you know. One other idea...does it have to be a cabin? Because some of the outfitters will do drop camps with pretty darn nice camping set ups.

I was thinking about a drop camp. I think I would almost do that instead of a cabin. Going to check into that first, I think. Thanks
