Best area to stay with kds in summer months?

We'd like to take our 7 g'kids to Colorado next summer and maybe rent a house or LARGE condo for a couple weeks. Would like advise on the best area to stay where we can do all the fun stuff.

Alpine slides, water rafting, biciclying, etc. Please help! And if you have any good cabins or homes or condos would appreciate that info also. Thanks again!!

Wow there are many places that fit. Maybe a bit more information. Are you flying in, what airport or driving? What is the budget, ages of the kiddos?

<<Alpine slides, water rafting, biciclying>> the first place that came to mind was Breckenridge, you can sort VRBO by size.

If you want something a bit more quiet then look at Winter Park. You might look at the YMCA ymcarockies.org/snow-mountain-ranch-winter-p…

My other hometown Keystone does not have an alpine slide but they are super family friendly with tons of kids activities the Kidtopia weeks are a hit with the younger set. Keystone is close to Breck about 15 min away but it is more quiet. Really anyplace in Summit County would make for a great trip.

Oh thanks! Our kids will all between 11 & 14 years of age. Middle to high rental...We were thinking Breckenridge too...or that area. Thanks!

Durango/Durango Mountain Resort would be a great spot, too, and easily driveable from Texas.

Since you are driving in from the south I agree with misspWestSlope_CO to take a look at the SW area of the state.

Another option, although a bit further is Steamboat Springs. Tubing in the Yampa right in town, Alpine slide at Howelsen Hill (and proceeds go to the Winter Sports Club), tons of bike paths. Actual rafting is about an hour or so away. As for lodging there are several buildings that have 4BR condos or town homes such as Trappeurs Crossing, Eagle Ridge Townhomes (not the Lodge), Snowflower, Ironwood just to name a few.

SW CO is a fantastic choice as mentioned above, also with families Glenwood Springs is great

Other good areas to consider for lots to do and beauty still is CO Springs. Canon City is a good day trip, Cripple Creek to the Mollie Kathleen Mine. Woodland Park is a neat town, visit the Wolf Center in Divide, the Dino museum in Woodland Park and the Florissant Fossil Beds.

In CO Springs: tons of museums--Pro Rodeo, Pioneers, Figure Skating, Air Force Academy to tour and museum like lobby area to explore....Olympic Training Center, Rock Ledge Ranch (Living History).

Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, Helen Hunt Falls, Cheyenne Mtn. Zoo and Will Rogers Shrine to the Sun, Red Rock Canyon and the Cog Railway!

Canon City: Royal Gorge Bridge and Park (hit by fire and will re-open see website for details), rafting and train ride

I would not spend the entire 2 weeks in one location. I would divide the trip into two locations like Durango and Breckenridge. Different areas of Colorado offer varying activities and the geography and scenery is not the same.
