Planning a Ski Trip, but have some non-skiers...

I'm planning a ski trip for a mixed group of people, some who want to go skiing and others that just want to hang out.

What mountain resort would people recommend for 30-somethings that do not ski and have no kids (mostly)? A place that may offer shopping, excursions, good restaurants, etc..

Any help would be appreciated.

When are you coming?

For how long?

Flying into Denver?

If looking for a ski town so skiers can ski and non-skiers can enjoy the town, then I would look at

Breckenridge

Vail

assuming you are flying into Denver.

Breckenridge and Aspen were real towns before becoming ski resorts, so they have a lot of character that goes beyond skiing. Steamboat is another good example. Vail is totally a ski town, but also has a lot to offer. Copper is just a ski resort, Winter Park somewhat the same. From an overall character point of view, I would opt for Breckenridge or Aspen.

Have fun.
