Denver downtown on sat night

We were planning to stat at the westin for a quiet Saturday with the kids on our way to Breckinridge but.. The broncos game is now on Sunday. I assume downtown will be busy sat night. Is it worth moving? Kids are older but looking to hang out in a fun area without waiting a long time. If we move where else in the denver area has an area like 16th street?

LoDo on weekends can be really rowdy. Lots of young 20s high on testosterone, booze and whatever leaving the bars after they close. Here's a link to a Denver Post article about the situation. denverpost.com/news/ci_23746424/beer-can-wor…

The Westin in Westminster is close to some nice malls, close to Boulder and some interesting activities. There's the Butterfly Pavillion and an ice skating rink near also.

Westminster is approximately 20 minutes from Boulder. Boulder's downtown also has a pedestrian mall: Pearl Street http://www.boulderdowntown.com/

Smaller, more quaint than 16th Street in Denver. Lots of shops and restaurants.

I'll chime in that given how crazy Denver will be this weekend, I'd opt for spending Saturday evening in Boulder.

Boulder is great but not exactly on the way to Breckenridge. Denver is fun though as SusieLou said there have been troubles at let out. We are usually home well before then, midnight is a late night for us! I have never encountered any problems. I think that unless you are planning on staying out late I'd keep with your original plans.

Well, the Westin downtown does offer sports packages so I think you will find the hotel probably not as family oriented that weekend as some others. imho, go for Westminster if you want a quiet night.

If you want a quiet night go to Golden, stay in the historic area. http://www.golden.com/downtown.htm

I do not think the Bronco game is going to have a big an impact on Sat as you are thinking though.
