Bushnell Parking and sidewalk

We loved the recent production of 'Sweeney Todd' at the Bushnell.

The parking lot is under lit and the sidewalk from the parking lot (across the street from the Bushnell) is cracked, uneven and unsafe. This area is also under lit.

There were many Seniors attending this weeknight performance and we stopped two of them on their way down to a painful fall. What is wrong with Hartford? It would be fine with me to charge a reasonable parking fee to make this area better lit and maintained.

Thoughts?

Across the street from the Bushnell is the State Office Building. That and the adjacent parking lots utilized by Bushnell patrons are State owned. I'm not sure if there is any formal agreement or payment between the Bushnell and the State for the use of the parking lots. If the sidewalk is in bad shape contact your state representative and tell them to get our property in order.

Dead right. We do need to make sure our tax dollars are at work! This situation is deplorable, really. Hartford has so little to draw visitors in: the Bushnell stands out in this regard and access is not user friendly at all.
