Where to stay with access to Hebron?

My husband has business in Hebron in October. I'm planning on joining him for a week with our 9 month old daughter. Hebron doesn't seem to have very much going on and has no appropriate hotels for us. We were considering staying at the Mohegan Sun so that my daughter and I would have plenty to do during the day. He would just commute to Hebron each day. I'm not sure about traffic in CT and how functional that would be. Could I get get some advice from locals or people more familiar about CT? Where would you suggest that we stay? Thanks!

I'd suggest staying in Glastonbury …hilton.com/en/…index.html or …hilton.com/en/…index.html

There will be more to do in Glastonbury and the greater Hartford area than at the casino. There's not that much there besides the gambling and Hebron will be a shorter commute from Glastonbury. In Glastonbury there are several very good restaurants within walking distance of the hotels: J Gilberts, Max Fish, Max Amore, Bricco's. Also shopping at http://theshopsatsomersetsquare.com/. You can take your daughter to the Children's Museum in West Hartford and Lutz Museum in Manchester. You can pick apples in the orchards in Glastonbury.

Hebron is an easy drive from the casino. Hartford area is closer to Hebron and and you might find more reasonable lodging.

brookerme and I agree, Glastonbury would be a very nice choice. Smoking at the casinos may affect your visit there.

Great, I will look into Glastonbury and Hartford. I was warned that some areas of Hartford should be avoided?

it's a 6 minute commute from glastonbury to Hartford if you want to go there for dinner or something. don't stay in Hartford. no need. Hebron and Glastonbury are east of the CT river; Hartford being west of the river. your husband will easily travel on route 2 to hebron from Glastonbury, a much easier commute than fighting traffic on 84 or 91 to pick up route 2 from Hartford. there's no benefit in staying in Hartford, imo.
