Going to the beach

We just made our reservation for our vacation in July. We've been staying in Fenwick island for the past 9 years and going to the beach in Ocean City. Now, we're staying just outside Lewes. I was wondering what the pros/cons are about going to Lewes Beach compared to Cape Henlopen. (Ease of parking, bathroom/concession availability, etc) We were considering getting a state park pass, but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions first. Thanks!

1. Re: Going to the beach

Lewes Beach is on the Delaware Bay. Very calm compared to an ocean beach. Cape Henlopen State Park's beach is on the ocean, with the kind of waves you're used to from Fenwick and OC. Unless you have small children who can't deal with big waves, there's no reason to go to Lewes Beach IMHO.
