Large family Christmas vacation where???

We have 10 people, 7 young adults 18-24, 2 active 40 somethings, and a 12 year old. We want a relaxing beach (Gulf side preferred) 2 week vacation for Christmas, and are unsure as to which beach/town would be best.

We like swimming, shelling, surfing, beach volleyball, hiking and biking, good restaurants and quaint shops. A good supermarket is nec. as we want a vacation home rental. We might do one theme park (Busch maybe), and also want to see the everglades....maybe florida keys. Other than that relaxation...

suggestions please!

You won't go wrong with Marco Island. You will be able to rent a nice home that is within walking distance to the beach. Almost all rental homes have their own pools. The shelling is good. There will not be surfing though. Kids will have skimmer boards but not surf boards. The waves just are not big enough. There are not many quaint shops but some. There are supermarkets on the island. Nice place to relax. The beach is wide and nice and doesn't get too crowded. We really like being there. If you want shopping, you can always drive into Naples to shop. Christmas is a great time to be there. In fact, we spent Christmas 2007 there. Think about beach portraits. We had our family portrait taken on the beach. Book early though as this is a popular thing to do. Start with www.vrbo.com to find a house.
